Annual General Meetings

46th Annual General Meeting

Saturday 23rd March 2024

St Mary’s Church Centre Wargrave RG10 8DH

The location for this year’s Annual General Meeting will be provided by Wargrave Local History Society and will be held in the St Mary’s Church Centre.

The programme will start at 11.00 with refreshments, followed at 11.30 by the AGM business which we will endeavour to keep as short as possible to increase the time for social and cultural activities.

After the AGM there will be a short informative pre walk talk about the Wargrave area, followed by a lunch break between 13.00 and 14.00.

After lunch, at 14.00, there will be a walk around the locality led by members of the Wargrave Society. (If the weather is inclement then an illustrated talk will be given in the hall.)  This is expected to take around an hour after which tea and cake will be served before departure.

TRANSPORT:

While there is a reasonable amount of parking close to the centre it would be helpful if options to car share could be considered.

By Bus

The bus service is Arriva 850, from Reading to Henley, Marlow and High Wycombe, and hourly on a Saturday. (There is a Thames Valley 127 from Reading to Maidenhead on a Saturday every 2 hours – but that does not serve that part of the village (c.½ mile walk from its nearest stop). Going from Henley towards Reading the bus stop for the 850 is opposite the end of Station Road, but from Reading towards Henley the stop is by the village hall in the middle of the High Street.

By Train

The station is on the Twyford-Henley branch line and a short walk from the centre.

MOBILITY CONCERNS:  The centre is on the level and accessible. The local walk will follow pavements and roads.

DISPLAYS: The centre will open at 10.00 for societies wishing to set up displays.

LUNCH:  Please bring a packed lunch or make your own arrangements.

There will be no charge for attending this meeting.
