Uffington Church

Postby polypody » Sun Jan 20, 2013 6:27 pm

One of my interests is visiting Churches, using Arthur Mee's book The Kings England, as a guide. These books, covering all the counties of England describe towns & villages & points of interest therein. They also give fairly good descriptions of Churches. The entry for Uffington mentions the Consecration Crosses as if the actual metal? crosses still existed. The book was, I imagine, written between WW1 & WW2. Do anyone have any knowledge of these crosses, what happened to them & when? Any help would be much appreciated.
