Furze Bush Inn, Newbury

Postby Shandar » Tue Oct 26, 2010 1:21 pm

Can someone point me in the right direction to find out about past pub proprietors for the Furze Bush Inn of Newbury - namely about the 1830's-1840's?

Cheers!
Shan.

The Furze Bush is not in Newbury (almost but not quite) - nor is it in Berkshire. You need to look in Hampshire (Ball Hill, parish of East Woodhay).

In 1855 (PO Directory) it is not a named pub (inn or alehouse) so, if it was there, it would be a beerhouse, run by one of the four beer retailers listed (Griffin, Tapp, Taylor or Wernham).
