The West Reading Adult School

Postby Contributor » Tue Sep 22, 2009 11:09 am

This year marks the centenary of the Gloucester Road Centre, now the site of the Gloucester Road Playgroup, but originally a Quaker Adult School. We are very interested in hearing from anyone with links to the West Reading Adult School, including people who may have attended social evenings or Saturday dances there. The building also seems to have had other uses, such as a place of worship for a West Indian Church and as an extension to Battle School. Any first-hand accounts would be of interest and photographs are particularly welcome.

Did you ever get any response to your query either via the forum or other sources? We passed by the building this afternoon & I'd be interested in its history.
