Tanners Farm Kidmore End

Postby Contributor » Tue Sep 22, 2009 10:09 am

I was born in Reading 1953 and my family initially lived at Tanners Farm in "social housing" which consisted of Nissen huts formally used by the Polish forces during the war. Has anyone seen or can send pictures of the Nissen huts camp area as my father died when I was 3 yrs old and my memory is somewhat hazy although I recall the potbellied stove in the centre.

I was born in 1953 in a Nissan Hut and lived in Kingswood Common nr reading till I was 3. Went to look around at site and you can still see where the hut sat - John Clark
