Evacuation to Pangbourne WWII

Postby Contributor » Tue Sep 22, 2009 11:51 am

Can anyone please point me in the right direction.I was evacuated from S/E London with my Mother and Sister during WWII. I'm not certain of the exact year possibly 1943/4, we lived in a converted railway carriage not very far from the river, which I fell into and was rescued by an Amercian!! I would like to know if there are News reports/documentation of some kind, perhaps photographs, editorials etc and how to access them.I have many memories of a very happy time spent in Pangbourne and of the school and several friends.I would be grateful for any information.

This week on Anne Diamond's programme we're telling stories of people who were evacuated to Berkshire during the war. We'd be really interested in finding out more about your story. Could we chat?
