Spitfire crash-landing in Cow Lane 1945-46

Postby Contributor » Tue Sep 22, 2009 11:48 am

One of my earliest memories is of being taken by my grandfather to see where a Spitfire, being flown by a female delivery pilot, had crash-landed across Cow Lane, Reading. For years afterwards one could see where the fence on both sides of the lane had been repaired after the crash. Does anyone know exactly when it happened?
