About the BLHA
Function
The Berkshire Local History Association (BLHA) was founded in 1976,
to encourage Local History Research and interest in the county, both
pre- and post the 1974 boundary changes. It provides a common meeting
ground for individual members, the various local history societies
and groups within the county, and the professionals who work in archives,
libraries, museums and education. It is a registered charity (no.
1097355).

Links with Universities, the Record Offices, and Libraries
We maintain close links with the Oxford and Reading University Departments,
which arrange classes in the area, and with museums, libraries, and
the Berkshire and Buckinghamshire Record Offices, whose material
is used by local historians. On a national basis, we are members
of The British Association for Local History.
We hope that as one who is interested in local history
at whatever level, you will join us
and find the support and encouragement we aim to provide. |
